Visitei ontem, 19 de maio de 2013, o Museu do Café, localizado no
edifício no qual funcionou a antiga Bolsa Oficial de Café, de 1922 até 1957, na
cidade de Santos. Yesterday, 19th May 2013 I visited
the Museum of Coffee which is located in the building of the antique Official
Coffee Exchange Palace that operated from 1922 to 1957 in the city of Santos.
Na entrada do Museu, o Salão do Pregão onde era negociado o preço diário
das sacas de café, decorado com painéis pintados por Benedito Calixto retratando
a história de Santos. The trading Room where the daily price of the
coffee’s bags was negotiated is right at the entrance of the Museum and it is
decorated with paintings by Benedito Calixto showing Santos’ history.
O prédio da antiga Bolsa Oficial do Café foi tombado pelo Instituto do
Patrimônio Histórico e Artístico Nacional (Iphan) em 2009. The
building of the antique Official Coffee Exchange Palace was declared part of
historic heritage by the National Institute of Historical and Artistic Heritage
(Iphan) in 2009.
