Peterhof, o Palácio de Verão Russo

Quando comecei a organizar a minha viagem para São Petersburgo reservei um dia inteiro para conhecer o Museu Hermitage e outro para os jardins de Peterhof. Acompanhei pela a internet a previsão do tempo para escolher o melhor dia para visitar o Palácio de Verão. When I started organizing my trip to St. Petersburg I saved a full day to visit the Hermitage Museum and another day for Peterhof´s gardens.  I checked the weather forecast daily on the Internet in order to find out the best day to visit the Summer Palace.

Ontem, 3 de julho de 2012, a temperatura estava em torno de 20C em São Petersburgo, o céu azul e o sol brilhando intensamente. Era o dia ideal para ir para Peterhof. Yesterday, 3th July  2012, the temperature was around 20C in Saint Petersburg, the sky was blue and the sun shining brightly. It was the perfect day to go to Peterhof. 

A cidade Peterhof que tem o mesmo nome do Palácio fica há 50 km de São Petersburgo e o acesso é muito fácil. Tomei o metrô até a estação Abtobo e lá peguei uma van para Peterhof. A passagem de metrô custa 27 rublos (Cerca de R$1.70) e a passagem da van 70 rublos( R$ 4.35). A viagem é rápida, cerca de 50 minutos e a van para em frente ao Palácio de Verão. Há também a possibilidade de ir de barco que sai do píer próximo ao Hermitage. É uma ligação pela água entre o Palácio de Inverno e o Palácio de Verão. The city Peterhof has the same name as the Summer Palace which is just 50 km from St. Petersburg and it is easy to get there. I took the metro till Abtobo station. Then I took a van to Peterhof. The ticket of the metro costs 27 rubles (a bit less than a dollar) and the ticket of the van 70 rubles (around 2 dollars). The trip is fast, about 50 minutes and the van stops in front of the Summer Palace. It is also possible to go by boat leaving from a pier next to the Hermitage. The Winter Palace and Summer Palace are connected by water.

O ingresso custa 450 rublos (R$28.00) e inclui a visita ao palácio e aos jardins. Na entrada os únicos mapas disponíveis são em russo. A atendente da bilheteria não falava inglês e as informações são limitadas para quem não fala russo. Enquanto visitava os jardins percebi que era possível entrar na fonte principal e visitar o aviário desde que se tivesse um ingresso adicional. Não tinha informação em inglês a respeito destes ingressos. Tentei entrar na fonte principal com o meu ingresso que obviamente foi recusado. Admission fee is 450 rubles ( 14 dollars) and includes a visit to the palace and gardens. At the entrance the maps available are only in Russian. The ticket clerk did not speak English and the information is limited to those who do not speak Russian. While i was visiting the gardens I saw it was possible to enter in the main fountain and at the aviary but it was necessary an additional ticket. There was no information in English about it at the entrance. I tried to get in with my ticket but obviously it was refused. 



Não tive tempo para visitar o palácio porque passei o dia caçando fontes e cascatas nos jardins do Palácio do Pedro o Grande. I had no time to visit the palace because I spent the day hunting fountains and waterfalls in the gardens of the Palace of Peter the Great.

Peterhof foi construído como uma resposta russa ao Palácio de Versalhes. Eu já estive duas vezes em Versalhes e em uma das viagens visitei o palácio e parte dos jardins e na outra somente os jardins. Na minha opinião, os jardins de Peterhof são imensamente mais lindos e grandiosos que Versalhes. Peterhof was built as a Russian response to the Palace of Versailles. I've been twice in Versailles and in one trip I visited the palace and part of the gardens. On the second trip I only visited the gardens. In my opinion, the gardens of Peterhof are much more beautiful e majestic than the ones in Versailles.



São mais de 150 fontes e quatro cascatas espalhadas em 1000 hectares de jardins.  There are over 150 fountains and four cascades spread in 1000 acres of gardens.

 Andei, andei e andei o dia todo por Peterhof. Quando as pernas já não queriam mais me levar, tomei um trenzinho para continuar o passeio pelos jardins. I walked, walked and walked all day around Peterhof. When my legs no longer wanted to take me up and down, I took a little train to continue the tour through the gardens.

Quantas memórias lindas guardarei sempre comigo deste dia inesquecível andando pelos jardins do Palácio de Verão de Pedro o Grande.  I will keep so many beautiful memories of this unforgettable day walking through the gardens of the Summer Palace of Peter the Great.

As tranças dos cavalos de São Petersburgo

Visitei ontem a Igreja do Nosso Salvador do Sangue Derramado que é um dos símbolos de São Petersburgo. Em frente a igreja  havia  dois cavalos muito bonitos que somente as crianças podiam montar para um breve passeio.  Um deles tinha uma trança na crina e outro no rabo. Yesterday I visited the Church of Our Savior of Spilled Blood which is one of the symbols of St. Petersburg. In front of the church there were two beautiful horses that only children could go for a short ride. One had a plait on the mane and the other on the tail.

Em todos os pontos turísticos da cidade há charretes belíssimas que os visitantes podem alugar e se sentir um pouco mais perto do que foi um dia Leningrado e o que é hoje São Petersburgo.  In all tourist attractions of the city there are gorgeous carriages that visitors can rent and feel a little closer to what was Leningrad in the paste and how St. Petersburg looks like today.

Um suco à moda russa

 

Andando pelas belíssimas ruas de São Petersburgo  ontem a tarde vi na vitrine de uma doceria um suco muito diferente e entrei para experimentar.

O suco era bastante consistente, quase um creme. O que eu tomei era de kiwi, pêssego e amora. Infelizmente ninguém falava inglês na doceria e não consegui perguntar como o suco é colocado no copo para não misturar os sabores.

Yesterday I was walking around the beautiful streets of St. Petersburg and I saw at the window of a cafe a very different juice that I decided to taste.The juice was very thick and I the one I had was with kiwi, peach and berry. Unfortunately no one could speak English at the cafe and I was not able to ask how the juice is placed into the glass in order not to mix the flavors.

A grandiosidade do Museu Hermitage

Conhecer o Hermitage é uma experiência tão espetacular que me fez repensar o meu conceito sobre os grandes museus que já visitei mundo afora.  Visit the Hermitage is an experience so spectacular that made ​​me to think again about my concept of the great museums I've visited around the world.

São mais de 3 milhões de peças espalhadas pelos 10 prédios que fazem parte do complexo do museu. Escolhi visitar ontem o Palácio de Inverno que tem 1.057 salas e galerias de arte. Andei horas pelo museu, fascinada com a riqueza e beleza de cada sala que entrei. O que conheci talvez seja menos de 1% do acervo do museu, porém, o suficiente para ter certeza que é o museu mais imponente do mundo com seus tetos magníficos, lustres grandiosos, paredes repletas de detalhes, muitas obras de arte e o chão de madeira decorada.  There are more than three million pieces of art in the 10 buildings that are part of the complex of the museum. Yesterday I chose to visit the Winter Palace which has 1057 rooms and galleries. I walked through the museum for hours, fascinated by the richness and beauty of every room I entered. Perhaps l visited less than 1% of the museum collection, however, it was enough for me to be sure it is the most impressive museum in the world with its magnificent ceilings, grand chandeliers, walls full of detail, several art pieces and the decorated wooden floor.
