Edifício Niemeyer em Belo Horizonte

Projetado por Oscar Niemeyer em 1954, na Praça da Liberdade em Belo Horizonte, o edifício tem doze andares e a fachada é recoberta por placas horizontais sobrepostas que dão a impressão que o prédio é bem mais alto. Das suas curvas que lembram as serras mineiras, resultaram apartamentos sem cantos e a melhor vista da Praça da Liberdade é do quarto da empregada. Um jeito que Niemeyer encontrou de deixar uma marca socialista em sua arquitetura. Designed by Oscar Niemeyer in 1954, at Liberdade Square in Belo Horizonte, the building has twelve floors and the façade is covered with overlapping horizontal boards that give the impression that the building is much higher. Its curves remind the hills from Minas Gerais. The apartments do not have corners and the best view of the Square is from the maid's room.  That was the way Niemeyer found to show his socialist beliefs in his architecture.

Neste prédio moraram o ex-presidente Tancredo Neves e sua esposa Risoleta Neves. In this building lived the former president Tancredo Neves and his wife Risoleta Neves.

Visitei a Praça da Liberdade no dia 8 de dezembro de 2012 e fotografei o Edifício Niemeyer de vários ângulos. I visited Praça da Liberdade on 8^th December 2012 and took photos of Niemeyer building from various angles.
